Why I switched to Essential Oil Diffusers

Let's be honest, fragrance plays a big role in everyone's lives, whether it is from deodorant, perfume, air freshener, etc. When your house has that smell that just doesn't seem to want to go away, you turn to a synthetic/artificial fragrance plug-in to have an everlasting smell of "summer breeze" without knowing what it is you are actually smelling. Synthetic fragrance is a man-made scent that is created in a lab using chemicals to mimic the smell of natural ingredients instead of being derived from nature. Synthetic fragrances pose a number of health risks, including respiratory problems, hormone disruption, and even harm indoor air quality. Synthetic fragrances use a common toxic chemical called phthalates, which are plasticizers used to soften the elasticity of products. So, in a way, you are breathing in petrochemicals, which are the same base material used to make plastic. And if we have found anything out in these past years, it is that plastic is toxic. That is why I switched to essential oil diffusers to keep my house smelling fresh 24/7:)
Small but mighty. This super cute color-changing oil diffuser, pictured below, fits perfectly anywhere in the house without taking up a lot of space. It has a glass reservoir and a natural wood base, perfect for a more subtle, toxic-free look. If you are interested in ditching the synthetic fragrances and switching over to an essential oil diffuser, here are a couple of links to my favorite ones.
